FULLERTON – Police are seeking the public’s help in piecing together a shooting that left a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of his neck.
The man, in his 20s, showed up at St. Jude Medical Center at about 4 a.m. Sunday, Fullerton police Lt. Mike Chlebowski said.
He was transferred to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where his condition is unknown.
The man told police he was shot in Placentia, but he later recanted his version of events and said the shooting happened near Orangethorpe Avenue and State College Boulevard, Chlebowski said.
“The victim is not as cooperative as we would like him to be,” Chlebowski said.
Detectives are trying to determine where the shooting occurred, who the shooter was and if the shooting was gang-related.
Anyone with information is asked to call Fullerton police Sgt. Matt Row at 714-773-5758.
