FOUNTAIN VALLEY – Two men suspected of binding and gagging a store clerk while stealing more than $100,000 in jewelry are facing robbery, kidnapping and elder-abuse charges, authorities said.
Two armed men robbed JB Jewelry in the 8800 block of Warner Avenue on Thursday morning, leaving a 72-year-old woman who works at the business bound and gagged while they left with about $104,000 in jewelry, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.
After the robbery, LAPD officers detained two men, who authorities identified as Brian Lee and Quinntion Barnes, with property stolen during the robbery, police said. Fountain Valley detectives took the men into custody, while a “significant amount” of the property stolen in the robbery was recovered.
The men have been charged with felony counts of kidnapping to commit robbery, second-degree robbery and inflicting injury on an elder adult, according to Orange County Superior Court records.
Orange County Sheriff’s Department jail records show Barnes, 27, and Lee, 38, are being held without bail.
