Deputies are searching for a 27-year-old Wildomar man suspected of stabbing a 19-year-old after the two argued near Lake Elsinore, authorities said.
The stabbing was reported about 12:45 a.m. Sunday, July 22, at a home in the 33000 block of Garner Road in the unincorporated Lakeland Village area, Riverside County sheriff’s officials said. Deputies arrived to find the 19-year-old with several stab wounds to his torso. He was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center in San Bernardino County in critical condition, a sheriff’s news release said.
Investigators say Matthew Skyberg argued with the man before pulling an unknown type of knife and stabbing him. Skyberg fled before deputies arrived, authorities said. Sgt. Patrick Chavez described the two men as acquaintances.
Skyberg is described as white, 6-foot-4, 170 pounds, with a shaved head, sheriff’s officials said.
Authorities ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Station at 951-245-3300 or, after hours and on weekends, sheriff’s dispatch at 951-776-1099.
