Man crashes into Newport Beach home

orange county bail bondsNEWPORT BEACH – A man was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing into a house Sunday night, authorities said.

The 38-year-old man was driving south on Cliff Drive and continued even though the street ended in a T-intersection at Irvine Avenue, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 8:50 p.m., said Kathy Lowe, spokeswoman with Newport Beach police.

The driver, identified as Michael Joseph Anderson, of Westminster, was taken to Western Medical Center with unknown injuries, she said.

No other injuries were reported.
