Police identify 26-year-old shooting victim

ANAHEIM – A man who was shot to death Friday night in a shooting police believes may be gang-related has been identified.

Francisco Javier Briseno, 26, of Anaheim was pronounced dead at a hospital after he was shot at least one time, said Anaheim police Sgt. Bob Dunn.

Dunn said police are investigating the shooting as a potential gang-related incident.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, officials received calls of a man lying in the road in the 800 block of South Philadelphia Street, Dunn said.

Dunn said police do not have any suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
