SANTA ANA – A registered sex offender pleaded guilty Friday and was sentenced to six years in prison for sexually assaulting a teenage boy he met on Facebook, prosecutors said.
Chris Glen Phernambucq, 31, of Anaheim was convicted of several felony counts, including using a minor for commercial sex acts, and one misdemeanor count of oral copulation of a minor, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office said.
According to prosecutors, here’s what happened:
In December, Phernambucq met the 17-year-old boy on Facebook. Prior to the sexual assault, Phernambucq told the teenager he was a director of adult movies and wanted to hire him to be in his film. In January, Phernambucq met the teen at an abandoned house in Anaheim. Phernambucq ordered him to undress and videotaped sexual acts.
The teenager, who became uncomfortable and left, learned later about Phernambucq’s sex-offender status, prosecutors said. He told his family about the sexual assault, who contacted Anaheim police.
