SANTA ANA – While no trial date is set yet for a Yorba Linda man indicted last year on charges he killed six people – including four homeless men – lawyers on both sides say a late 2014 start is realistic.
Superior Court Judge Francisco Briseño on Friday set a pretrial hearing for Jan. 17 for Itzcoatl “Izzy” Ocampo, 25.
As the short hearing Friday ended and as sheriff’s deputies were taking Ocampo away, he smiled and looked back at his family members, some of whom said, “We love you.”
The Marine Iraq war veteran is charged with the unprovoked stabbing deaths of four homeless men and the slayings of a Yorba Linda woman and her adult son.
