The Board of Supervisors offered a $10,000 reward Tuesday for information leading to whoever fatally shot a 19-year-old man and wounded two others in Long Beach nearly a year ago.
Sidney Wallace Jr. died at the scene of the March 28 shooting in the rear parking lot of an apartment complex in the 200 block of East Hill Street. Wallace’s 37-year-old cousin and another man, 49, were also shot about 9 that night, but survived.
Supervisor Don Knabe, who recommended the reward, said detectives hope it will encourage reluctant witnesses to come forward.
“Although several witnesses reported hearing shots, no one came forward to provide a description,” Knabe said.
Police said they are looking for at least two shooters.
Anyone with information was asked to call Long Beach police Detectives Greg Krabbe or Mark McGuire at 562-570-7244.
