Brea police are seeking two suspects in a Monday robbery. Brea Police Department

BREA – A robber fired a gun during a Monday night holdup at a Goodwill thrift store in Brea, police said.

The robbery happened about 6:30 p.m. at the store at 634 South Brea Blvd, said police Lt. Darrin Devereux.

Two men entered the store and were inside for about 30 minutes before the robbery, Devereux said.

One of the men acted as though he was going to make a purchase at the register while a second man waited off to the side, Devereux said.

The second man then pulled out a handgun and apparently accidentally fired the weapon, he added.

No one was injured and the robbers fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

The robbers were last seen running southbound on Brea Boulevard, Devereux said.

A Fullerton police department K-9 unit searched for the robbers Monday night but did not find them.

The man with the gun was described as in 40s with tattoos on his neck. The other robber is also described as being in his 40’s. Both are heavy set.

Anyone with information about the robbery should contact Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.
